Last year we decided to create a pop-tech explainer channel on YouTube that would conquer the world with awesomeness and get pumped up with likes.
We had experience in technology, filmmaking, and in digital and with cash in hand, we thought success was only a few clicks away!
Or so we thought.
We tokenized our blog and now we're AirDropping (aka giving away!) 10% of our tokens for free. Every token owner owns a piece of our channel and can influence TechHives content. Currently we're distributing tokens to the existing TechHives community because they have been rather awesome.
How we did it. Our story of tokenization. Or how we raised our first big money for our Youtube channel
December was a month with lots of creative energy and frustrated hopes. We had ideas, but no financial support.
Everything changed when we met a crypto-angel investor waiting for the chance to make social media a better place.
...and $50 000 for good luck! With our crypto-angel's help, we launched Blockchainsky, an explainer channel about blockchain and other tech innovations.
Hey guys! When are we gonna blockchainify everything?
We were working on the channel 24/7. We bought fancy equipment:
2 MacBook Pros with bells … $4,800 1 awesome editing stations … $ 3,900 2 Panasonic cameras … $4,300 Dozens of lenses … $3,200 Lighting panels … $3,750 Green screens, do-dads, thingies, and more … $8,000 Total $27,950 What's more, we hired a new crew and took trips to shoot videos! We introduced our new branded channel and began writing the first scripts.
Blockchainsky went on to conquer Soundcloud, iTunes, Twitter, Facebook, Medium.
More Ideas, More Channels March 2018
And we pumped out more shows, too – Descripto, The Remoters, RATE TH!S and One Million Phones Ago. We tried to make every show unique, so new channels and groups were created for each of them.
There were so many ways to connect with our audience and yet there was a flaw in our secret logic sauce.
After a while it became clear that the audience for each of our shows was quite similar. Sadly, we understood this too late and our channels were like weird islands. We had to do something to merge our audience.
Techy Bee Hive
In a crazy stroke of genius, we just merged all shows onto a single platform and the team decided to call it TechHives – a place where every show is a techy bee hive showing technology from a new angle.
1 gazillion million views on YouTube!
By May 2018, production of Descripto and Blochainskiy was going like clockwork. We had a new script ready every Friday.
In the meantime, we traveled to the US to attend VidCon, the world's biggest YouTube conference.
We Meet and Fall in love with MediaToken June 2018
Did we mention that we discovered MediaToken at VidCon? We made romantic moves. MediaToken wasn't shy, either. It was a perfect solution for the development of our tech-inspired channel.
It was a win-win solution for our financial issues as well as our audience problems.
The First Tokenized YouTube Channel in 3 Clicks July 2018
We decided on MediaToken as a way to get investment and for the opportunity to unite and reward our fans and subscribers by making them revenue sharing partners.
What happened? - we brought our subscribers together on a single channel - we increased the growth rate of views - we bought more new stuff
AirDrop and Kick Butt! August 2018
We airdropped 10% of our own branded tokens. Every token owner owns a piece of our channel and can influence TechHives content.
Currently we're distributing tokens to the existing TechHives community because they have been rather awesome. Soon, however, we'll let the tokens fly for anyone who wants to be a crypto angel investor and make a buck with new social media tech.
Now anyone can find their own crypto-angel with MediaToken!
TechHives is proud to be the first YouTube channel to build a media empire with MediaToken!
